Bandarban correspondent :: In Minjhiri Para area of Ruma Upazila in Bandarban, on Tuesday morning, the army raided the terrorists’ hideout and recovered various equipments including weapons and drugs from a zoom house.
According to the army sources, the armed terrorists fired at the members of the army and the army also fired back and at one stage the terrorists fled away. After that fire fight, the army members later found two Russian-made SMGs, three magazines, 15 rounds of ammunition, domestic liquor, opium and various uniforms used by the terrorists on the spot.
Colonel Mohammad Jobayer Shafiq said that when the armed terrorists raided the area, after receiving information, the armed terrorists were hold positions in a zoom house in the mountains and then these terrorists opened fire targeting on the members of the army. Army members also fired back to them. At one point, these terrorists fled away and weapons and drugs were being recovered from that spot.
Note that these terrorists were influencing the people using the upcoming Union Parishad election situation, showing them the fear of weapons and trying to establish a reign of terror by holding the poor hostage and extorting a huge amount of money and carrying out terrorist activities in these areas. And also, such terrorist groups are violating the Hill Tracts Peace Accord and trying to establish an independent autonomous region by isolating the Chittagong Hill Tracts from the mainland of the country.
