Bandarban Correspondent :: Today 5th may Wednesday in an event of Prime minister’s welfare fund distribution program, minister of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Bir Bahadur Useshig MP stated that in this Corona Pandemic situation, people will not die because of hunger. In the Governments welfare fund it is sufficient for the people to serve. Though there are some complaints against some of the local public representatives of municipalities in Bandarban. But he mentioned that we will not accept the party identity of anyone for this welfare distribution.
He also said that it is mandatory to have coordination among people who are in the welfare distribution program. Those who are poor will not get the benefits of it. For the lack of coordination, some of the people get those welfare repeatedly. So, he instructed the Mayor-Councilor to get special attention on this. At this time, because of the Covid-19, people who became helpless, poor, also work less, cash money and charity were provided to them.
Bandarban Municipality source had confirmed that from the Prime Minister’s special fund five thousand twenty one (5021) got five hundred (500) taka per person and four thousand six hundred twenty one (4621) person got four hundred and fifty (450) taka per person in the VGF card.
At this time, Mayor of Bandarban Municipality Md. Islam Baby, Additional SP Ashok Kumar Pal, Sadar UNO Tousif Ahmed & Panel Mayor Sourav Das were also present there.
