Rangamati District Administration is active and alert to make an effective Lockdown

--------- Nirmol Barua Milon, Rangamati District Correspondent :: To reduce the excessive   spreading of Covid-19 infection, Government has decided to lockdown the whole country from 1 July to 7 July midnight and announced to maintain the lockdown strictly everywhere across the country.
Regarding this lockdown situation, on last 30 June, cabinet division’s field administration coordination sub-department imposed 21 conditions on public movement and other organizations to remain closed to reduce the spread of this remaining Covid-19 situation that exists now in the country.
To make effective, this Government announced first day of lockdown yesterday, 1 July Thursday, police check post was temporary established in Manikchori, Vedvedi, College Gate, Banarupa, Old Bus Station (Doel Chottor Mor), Indrapuri Cinema Hall, Reserve Bazar and Tabalchari area. In that time, police had shown to check and make control over some of the vehicles and public movement.
Including district councilor’s office, some of the government office was opened to a limited extend. However, all the non-government organization’s office was remained closed. But because of the closing of June month, Bank was opened without having any kind of banking transactions. Every market and shops was remained closed during the first day of lockdown except Reserve Bazar. Almost every market and shop was remained opened and public crowd was also shown there.
The first day of lockdown, yesterday, Police Super Mir Moddaccher Hossain, ASP (Sadar) Moin Uddin Chowdhury, ASP (Sadar Circle) Taposh Ranjan Ghosh and Rangamati Kotwali Thana OC Md. Kabir Hossain had shown to petrol the city with their vehicles. Also, other members of police remained active at the field level. Multiple mobile courts of executive magistrates had seen patrolling the city. In that time, members of BGB, Police force and Ansar Force also included in those mobile courts.
During this first day of lockdown, public movement had shown less except for the emergency issues people were not stayed outside. Except for the vehicles of law enforcement agency, emergency agricultural product service, Food delivery, Healthcare, Ambulance, Fire service, Electricity, Telephone and Internet, Postal service, Pharmaceutical and Media vehicles, there was no other traffic shown in the city.
Police officer engaged in Vedvedi area SI Abdur Rahman said “This time a very small number of people are going outside than past times. Yet people are not showing anger to this lockdown and fear for this Covid-19 shown to all”.
To make this strict lockdown effective engaged police officer in Indrapuri Cinema Hall area SI Sumoti Chakma told “We informed again and again in Reserve Bazar area to remain close all the markets and shops, but they don’t listen, even when magistrate with his mobile court go to catch them to punish they shut the shop and stay inside that shop. After leaving the place they opened the shop again. Even then again we are trying to inform them the government instructions.” He also mentioned that without having any unpleasant incident, the first day of this lockdown had done and police are active in the field.
