Substrata Pressed Peoples’ Organisation’s Tatpuri James Biswas sent a news notice that, on November 21st, at 3 p.m., in front of the Press Club, a protest rally took place under the banner of Substrata Pressed Peoples’ Organization. Tatpuri James Biswas led the rally, and Nandakumar Bashfor, Ganga Babu, Wadda Di, and Amma Talli gave their speeches.

The speakers said the private development organisation Civic Initiative’s executive, Mr. Zakir Hossain, has been keeping the Substrata Pressed Peoples’ Organisation of Bangladesh monopolised for a very long time. Being fraudulent, Mr. Zakir is pursuing millions of taka and using it for his family members on projects to profit themselves. The fact is, there is no involvement of the members of the Pressed People’s Organisation in such projects. BDERM’s Zakir Hossain is breaking every rule of the organisation and misbehaving with the leaders of the organization. Even a female leader of the organisation was suppressed and became homeless, but no initiative was taken. Members of the organisation are also being dismissed for illogical reasons. Zakir has been ruling the organisation with his autocracy for a long time now. Even if somebody raises their voice, they get dismissed from their positions, so they are always in fear of this so-called leader, Zakir, or Suppressive Zakir. Therefore, we urge you to free the organisation from Zakir.

The speakers also mentioned that “Zakir has been ruling his autocracy towards the organisation for more than 15 years! We want to liberate our organisation from Zakir. We will build our strong protest movement to pursue our organisational rights”.
